Came back to Paris to a scorching summer day. Didn't have anything to do but walk around the city all day, reminiscing about my trip from over two years ago.
The Avenue des Champs-Élysées from the Place de la Concorde, with the Arc de Triomphe at the end:
At the Sacre Cour in the evening. There was a group of people playing instruments and singing on the steps, and the big crowd sang along. Particularly touching was a performance of Lennon's "Imagine", when everybody joined in - young people from all round the world gathered round outside a Basilica, singing this song! There is a lot of hope for this world. Here it is:
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
